Paper Topic: Child abuse & neglect Driving Question: What are the consequences of child abuse? Thesis Statement: Abuse can have different causes, such as ADHD, along with serious psychological consequences including depression and withdrawal symptoms, difficulty adjusting, problems with aggression, anxiety and bipolar disorder, and suicide.

Paper Key Facts: Green found that 41% of his sample of abused children engaged in headbanging, biting, burning, and cutting Victims of childhood sexual abuse are at high risk of becoming prostitutes. In the UK, 16% of people develop persistent depression by the age of 33. A quarter of them (4% of the whole UK population) were maltreated as children.

Paper What I learned: Most children who are abused become depressed. The earlier the trauma, the worse the effects can be. Most cases of child abuse are not reported. 1 in 8 children are abused before they turn 18 Time management skills

Product Created a PowerPoint presentation and brochure using Microsoft programs, and presented these to a class. How it impacted others: Helped clear up any misconceptions or myths, and answered questions about abuse. Informed others on abuse & neglect, and what to do for an abused child. May Encourage someone to report & help prevent child abuse.
