RIDGEWATER COLLEGE Transfer
2
State Legislation Per MnSCU Policy, we accept D grades of MnTC courses from other MnSCU institutions Cumulative GPA from MnTC needs to be 2.0 Transfer Pathways: We are waiting for direction from the system office to move forward on this. We have an appeal process which includes a local appeal and a MnSCU appeal
3
School Policies Transcripts are evaluated as part of the admissions process. Ridgewater considers all lower-division college level courses earned at degree granting institutions accredited by one of the six regional association of colleges and schools in the US or comparable international college or university. Courses from non accredited institutions will be considered for transfer with additional documentation
4
School Policies continued Students must earn a C- or higher in the course for it to transfer (MnSCU goal area courses with D or higher will also transfer). Minimum of 2.0 GPA in the MnTC Students must earn at least one-third of the required semester credits at Ridgewater College to earn a degree. Ridgewater will accept up to 16 credits of technical electives for an AA or AS degree.
5
More Policies Transfer credits will be added to total credits earned, but do not calculate in their cumulative GPA at Ridgewater College. Transfer credit totals will be listed on the transcript, but not individual courses. Individual courses that were evaluated, will be listed on the DARS report. General education courses and elective credits have no time limit to transfer to Ridgewater

More… General studies and technical coursework up to five years old is considered for equivalent credit for technical programs. If a general studies course is more that five years old, it may be considered for equivalent credit if they are non-technical in nature. Minnesota Transfer Curriculum courses completed at other MnSCU institutions transfer in the goal area(s) designated by that institution.

Procedures Transcripts are evaluated as part of the admissions process. Unofficial evaluations are done for students and students are referred to Transferology on our website and by their advisor. There is typically a one week turn around for transfer evaluations. Transcripts come in to the admissions office and are uploaded to ImageNow for review. The review time is approximately one week. For current students, the student and advisor will get an email with updated DARS report. For non current students, they will get the results in the mail. Student and advisors get an email including an updated DARS report once the evaluation is complete. CLEP, AP, DSST, and IB can be found on Transferology
8
Best Practices We encourage students to use Transferology We do transfer/how to read your DARS report workshops each year. Transfer students who transfer 12 or more credits to Ridgewater College, are not required to attend an orientation on campus. They are able to register for courses before new students attend the scheduled orientation dates.
