Chapter 7: Lesson 2 The people expected the Messiah to be one who would bring victory over evil, injustice, and sin. The Messiah would be a mighty king. He would be a descendant of David. A suffering servant who, like a lamb led to the slaughter and harshly treated, never uttered a word. He would be a “light for the nations.” He would be the “Hope of Israel,” a savior in time of need. A savior to defend and deliver.

Chapter 7: Lesson 2 Immaculate Conception: The fact that Mary was free from original sin and from all sin since the very moment she was conceived. Angel: A creature created by God as a pure spirit; Angels serve God as messengers, helping him to accomplish his mission of salvation. Annunciation: The announcement to Mary that she would be the mother of the Son of God.
