6 Historical First wobble stator developed in the 1950’s, on the 301 Series, for RCA Whirlpool to be used on a washing machine. Other original models of the 500 Series were developed to meet particular needs of OEM accounts. Known as the “SP” for “small pumps”. 600 Series developed as a high pressure car wash pump in the 1960’s. In the 1970’s, R&M opened a factory in South Carolina dedicated to the small pumps. Operations consolidated back to Springfield in the 1980’s with the restructuring of all R&M operations.
