1 PERFECT PLAYING POSITION The Footstool Sit on the front edge of the chair. Adjust your footstool to the proper height. Position your footstool under your left foot. Make sure that your lap is open enough for the guitar to securely rest on your lap.

2 PERFECT PLAYING POSITION Adding the Guitar Position the neck at about a 45 degree angle with the floor. Try to keep the tuning keys for the bass strings at about eye level. Try to keep the back of your guitar’s body close to your abdomen/chest area. Let the guitar rest in your lap.

3 PERFECT PLAYING POSITION A straight or only slightly arched wrist is ideal. Try to keep your knuckles parallel with the fret board. Try to keep your palm as close to the neck as possible. Try to keep your thumb flat on the back of the neck. Try to keep your thumb in line with your 1 or 2 fingers.
