This module is called “Computing – PC Hardware Module 3” It is to aid students with a new module in computing that is being introduced this year. The module will teach about the various hardware inside a PC, give the pupils a chance to build a PC virtually by piecing the components together and will include a test at the end of the module. This particular module was still work in progress when this showcase was put together, however it does include several animations and the graphical style/layout that will be included in the final product. Software used to produce this module include Adobe Flash CS5 (using AS3), Fireworks CS5 and Captivate 7.0
3
This is the start page of the module. It features a brief Flash animation that brings in tile based graphics and the titles. The same graphics and animation style are used throughout the module. The user is simply prompted to click the screen to begin the module.
4
The user is then directed to the introduction page. This page breaks down the module and explains what the user will be completing in the module. This shows the layout and styling that features through the entire module. Logo removed
5
This is an animation to introduce the beginning of Section 1. The user is taken to the next slide when the animation ends.
6
The slide above shows a script for the slide. My idea is to record a teacher or well known member of staff reading out the above text and in place of the text will be an animation explaining what is being spoken. Logo removed
7
This brief animation is still work in progress and will replace the text for the “Case” as shown in the previous slide.
8
This interactive animation is teaching about a motherboard inside a modern PC. The user can scroll over all the components to find out what it is, or use the menu on the left. If the user clicks on a component, more information is given.
9
Similar to the previous slide, this animation gives an interactive view of a backplate – the back of the PC where mice, keyboards etc. are plugged in.
