Birds n All birds have feathers, but not all birds can fly. n All birds have beaks and wings. n Birds live in a nest. n Birds are warm-blooded. n All birds hatch from eggs. n All birds breathe with lungs.

Type of Bird n A dove is a type of bird.

Fish n All fish breathe with gills. n All must must live in water. n Fish are cold-blooded animals. n Some fish lay eggs while other fish have live babies.

Type of Fish n A shark is a type of fish. It breathes with gills, must live in water, and has live babies.

Insects n Insects must have six legs. n Insects have three body parts called the head, thorax, and abdomen. n Insects must have wings and antennae. n A hard shell called an exoskeleton covers all insects.

Type of Insect n A bumble bee is an insect. It has 3 body parts, an exoskeleton, wings, antennae, and six legs.

Mammals nMnMammals give birth to live babies. nTnThe mammals babies’ drink milk from their mothers. nMnMammals use lungs to breathe. nHnHair covers mammals’ bodies. nAnAll mammals are warm-blooded.

Amphibians nAnAmphibians are animals that are born in water and grow to live on land. nTnThey have smooth, wet skin. nAnAmphibians are cold-blooded. nAnAmphibians lay eggs in water. nAnAmphibians breathe with gills when small, and then with lungs when they are adults.

Type of Amphibian n Frogs, toads, and salamanders are all examples of amphibians.

Reptiles n Reptiles have dry, scaly skin. n Reptiles are cold-blooded. n Reptiles breathe air through lungs. n Most reptiles lay eggs. n Reptiles have short legs or no legs at all.

Type of Reptile n Turtles, snakes, alligators, crocodiles, and lizards are all types of reptiles.
