2 Welcome! October 2006, R8 meeting in Belgrade - idea (11 Sections were interested) April 2007, R8 meeting in Sofia – presented and request for support September 2007 – 1 st meeting in Riga, all happy October 2007, R8 meeting in Bucharest – meeting report - excitement

3 History (continued) Most remarkable outcome of Riga meeting – formation of Latvia Section – the ring is closed April 2008, R8 meeting in Malta – proposal to form official Areas opposed by all Sections Baltic cooperation submeeting(s) – to have 2 nd meeting - here and now

4 Basics To develop cooperation between Sections around Baltic Sea which has long time (centuries) common trade, culture, economy Section are mid-size or small, few Chapters – cooperation should help to make Society operations more effective Common job market and education activities

5 Basics Non-formal structure Sections: Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, NW Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany Grass-root Min burocracy, max results Coordinator (Section, person) – who will take next meeting
