3 Outline Strategy New focus on public sector as a whole More clearly geared to reform agenda e.g. leadership; professionalism, sustainability Learning and development to be based on relevance and influence rather than revenue generation

4 Outline Strategy Greater emphasis on consultancy and bespoke development solutions Delivered through strategic partnerships with other Business Schools/Universities/individuals who are world class in their fields e.g. Warwick Business School Kennedy School of Government at Harvard Henley Management College Birmingham University Ashridge Working with other public service academies to ensure a service wide approach

5 Outline Strategy Strengthening our capacity: development of the Sunningdale Institute An association of leading academics and experts in business and public sector management appointed as Fellows of the National School – Concept of Professor Cary Cooper –Think-tank style discussions and analysis of major issues –Contribution to early thinking on policy areas –Seminars/presentations for the SCS and other key groups

6 Working with Others Collaboration is integral to our strategy –Look at familiar problems through unfamiliar lenses (geographic/political/cultural/economic) –Accelerate learning through working together –Enable knowledge to be applied locally –Employ leverage to influence outcomes –Gain accreditation to professional and academic standards –Enhance delivery capacity
