9 Decision to Proceed – No further action – Action is warranted but only if complainant chooses to do so – Action is warranted whether or not complainant chooses to participate in the process. 10 The Process The Title IX Coordinator will meet with the respondent to inform the individual of the complaint. Investigator meets/interviews: The complainant; The respondent; Relevant witnesses; and Collects and reviews any relevant information Investigator gives the complainant and the respondent the opportunity to: Present questions they believe should be asked of the other party; Names of witnesses to the incident; and Opportunity to respond to the other’s statement, if deemed appropriate. Complainant, respondent, and witnesses can provide a written statement or other supporting materials to the investigator. Investigator has 30 days to review all information and materials. If longer, all parties, and the Title IX Coordinator, need to be notified.

11 Sanctioning Process, Students Investigator's report goes to the Office of Student Conduct Sanctioning Panel will review report. Respondent and complaint have opp. to appear before panel. Sanctioning Panel makes decision and OSC will issue sanctions, in writing, to both parties.

12 Appeal Process, Students Each party can appeal the decision - has 5 days to do so in writing. Appeal request will be sent to all parties, investigator, Title IX Coordinator, and Sanctioning Panel. Each party listed can submit a 5- page paper regarding the appeal. Appellate board makes decision based on all the information. Decision is final - all notified in writing of outcome.
