2 Enlarged Conference Table Everyone sits, including instructors. Pros: More relaxed feel, participants feel free to jump in and contribute, can promote a more collaborative feel. Cons: Sometimes too casual for some topics. Speaker is less commanding of attention as she/he is sitting with all participants. Speaker can’t walk around the room and get closer to different attendees. Makes visual presentations in the front of the room feel less important. 3 Chevron Style Set-Up Pros: Gives the room a “classroom” feel. The speaker is able to move up and down the center of the room and reach individual participants. Promotes small group/table activities. Tablemates bond together. This set-up is great for a long series of classes with the same participants, as long as tablemates change at each session. Cons: Participants can’t see each other, especially those at the rear of the room. Some participants will be looking at the back of someone else’s head. If speaker walks to the back of the room for an extended period of time, those in the front need to turn around. Participants only really meet their tablemates Projection Screen large conference table or 6 ft. table large conference table or 6 ft. table large conference table or 6 ft. table large conference table or 6 ft. table large conference table or 6 ft. table large conference table or 6 ft. table large conference table or 6 ft. table Front of Room

Speaker can move about the room, walk into the U-shape to get closer to all participants. Cons: Sometimes too casual for some topics.. If U-shape is large, too much space between attendees, they feel like they are across the room from each other.
