WHAT IS THE THEME IN THE GIVER The importance of Memory Without memory there is no pain No memory of things that make a person happy, no nostalgia The importance of the Individual Growing from a child to an adult in just a matter of days Celebrating vs. hiding individuality Standing out among the crowd for the better
