Our Members are leading organisations
7
Our Members are Leading Specialists
8
What do we do? We organise Conferences, workshops and short courses, recognised globally for professional status requirements We publish Monographs, Scientific Journals and Magazines We promote international collaboration with a strong regional perspective in close relation with key international organisations We connect scientists and engineers around the world to share knowledge and ideas We facilitate continuing education for practitioners
9
Putting Science into Practice ●Our magazines publish special issues on topics of relevance to practitioners: -Sea level rise -Climate change -Hydraulic infrastructure -Urban flood modelling -Panama Canal
10
Leading International Journals
11
Books: Monographs & Manuals
12
Global Challenges ●Risk Assessment (Data Management) ●Oil Spill Modelling
13
Challenges for our Community Security of clean water supply will become increasing global challenge over next 30 years as population grows by 50% Growing global concern about water quality in rivers, estuaries, coastal and oceanic basins Growing concern about floods and droughts, groundwater and agriculture food security New fields of interest emerging:- eco-system services, renewable energy; risk assessment
