What is your definition of Psychology?

Dictionary: The science of the mind or of mental states and processes. American Psychological Association: a diverse discipline, grounded in science, but with nearly boundless applications in everyday life What is a “science” What is the “mind”? What are “mental state”? What are “mental processes”?

387 BC – Plato suggested that the brain is the mechanism of mental processes 1808 AD -- Franz Gall, founder of phrenology, the idea that a person's skull shape and placement of bumps on the head can reveal personality traits 1869 – Charles Darwin – Origins of Species 1886 – Sigmund Freud began practicing therapy, beginning of personality therapy 1900 – Sigmund Freud published ‘Interpretation of Dreams' marking the beginning of Psychoanalytic Thought.
