Come see me when you all have the words defined and choose one of them to work on.

2. What are we trying to do in this lab? (more detail in your lab manual, p.43-45) All the words you defined are properties of elements. They each have a trend as you move across or down the periodic table. You are going to cut straws to represent the value of your property for each of the main block elements (not the transition metals). Arrange these in a well plate in the same order as the periodic table. The spreadsheet will do the calculations (it’s online) – make sure all group members have an electronic copy before class ends today! Words/units go in blue boxes, numbers only go in yellow boxes. Your textbook is often more efficient than webelements.com for looking up numbers.
