1
Prokaryote or Eukaryote?
2
The most numerous organism on the entire planet. There are more bacteria in your mouth than there are people living on Earth Prokaryote- no nucleus DNA scattered throughout the cytoplasm Classified by shape: spherical, rodlike, spiral May have flagella- used for movement Smaller than plant or animal cells Have a cell wall and cell membrane
3
Bacteria Lyme disease bacteria Streptococcus Salmonella bacteria

Yeah For Bacteria! Ochobactrum anthropi used to help clean up oil spills Archaebacteria died millions of years ago producing methane, a part of natural gas Used in production of buttermilk, yogurt and cheeses Decomposers- recycling Earth’s matter Nitrogen fixing bacteria in plants like peanuts and soybeans that help the plant use the nitrogen it needs to grow
5
Bad Bacteria! Bacteria such as Staphylococci which causes staph infections and Streptococci which causes Strep Throat cause bacterial infections. Lobar pneumonia, meningitis, sepsis are caused by bad bacteria. infections…..infections ….. infections! Most bacterial infections can be treated with antibiotics, however overuse of antibiotics have caused bacteria to become resistant to the drugs.
