Definition of a precise focus for the case study which actually deals with a polyhedric situation concerning the crisis of schools in the mountain areas (decreasing of population/children, immigration and mixed- level classes, need for a revitalisation of schools integrated in a wider local process of mountain areas’ revitalisation) particulary at the culture sector (capture of historical, topographical and geological conditions) the inhabitants came up to an expectation, which have a favourable effect concerning to the cooperation the relativly short term of the project, will be leaded towards that many project can be only started, but not be finished at the given time Little time ressources for local persons and groups (volontary work) project coordinators are implementing the activities Coordination of various possibilities of memberships – active membership and supporting membership

A transnational project implemented by WP 6 - SERVICES AND QUALITY OF LIFE SCIENTIFIC MEETING, MILAN Piemont Grainau Niederösterreich Analysis of the state of schools peculiarities, priorities, potentialities, existing good practices (Italy and other Alpine countries); Formulation of a first theoretical model of an ‘European school’ feasibility studies including financial, administrative and technical aspects (e.g. check with the current legislation and recent changes, financial requirements and other funding opportunities); Analysis of the Alpi Marittime area in terms of criticisms and potentialities; Definition of an European school’s model applied to the peculiarities of the Alpi Marittime area; Involvement of local key actors involved in the promotion of schools in mountain areas in Piemonte and at a trans-national level (e.g. Principals of local schools, Parco Alpi Marittime, Provincial Educational Office of Cuneo, Mountain Communities, the Italian Alpine Club etc …. ) order is given to a office, to work out an IAP, in which all the single projects will be put together The IAP will be the basis for a widespreaded participation of the inhabitants of Grainau Integration of the government of Upper Bavaria into this participation process Coordination of interested and involved groups Working out of topics and working fields Implementation of self- organisation methodologies (local workshops) Setting up of inputs and strategy- know-how (regional workshops) Developement and establishing products and services to create more direct benefit for the participants (education) Methodology and strategy
