Economics helps us understand and explain a variety of topics such as employment, inflation, business cycles, economic growth, markets, competition, international trade, economic history, and public policy. Career Opportunities An economics degree prepares students to work as bankers, union officials, market analysts, stockbrokers, insurance executives, and legislative staffers, to name a few occupations. This degree also prepares student for graduate programs in economics, law, public policy, and business.
