Public Policy the principle that injury to the public good is a basis for denying the legality of a contract or other transaction. ●Gun Control is the matter of federal State and Local Legislation and the 2nd amendment to protect gun ownership. Because our federal gun laws are weak, states can adopt gun laws to protect communities from gun violence. ●Criminal Justice is the system that practice and institutions of governments that directed the upholding in social control

Hillary Clinton Gun Control- she wants to make it harder for people to purchase guns by having background checks at the time of purchase. During her time as first lady, she strongly advocated for the Brady Bill- required background checks for all gun purchases. Wants to close the loophole for gun show and internet purchases. Supports the law that says that domestic abusers are prohibited from buying and possessing guns. Wants to make straw purchasing a federal crime- when a person with no prior record buys a weapon for a felon, to avoid the background check Criminal Justice- she believes that the country needs to open its eyes to realize that America has a huge problem with race and justice. She called this the era of mass incarceration. Wants to strengthen the bond between communities and police. Wants to enforce minimum sentences for nonviolent drug offenders. Wants to ban employers from requiring applicants to answer the question of prior convictions. believes that everyone deserves a second chance.

Bernie Sanders Gun Control- Fairly moderate when it comes down to gun control laws. He believes in protecting people’s 2nd amendment rights, but there are changes that he wants to make. Wants to push for instant background checks when purchasing guns. Wants to ban semiautomatic weapons (AK 47). Like Clinton, wants to close the loophole for gun shows. Wants to make it legal for people to have guns for hunting purposes only, but still stands behind the idea that AK 47’s are not necessary. Racial/ Criminal Justice- believes that America needs to step up and work towards racial equality amongst everyone in the country Wants to make the police forces seem less like a military that’s ready to invade communities. Wants funding for body cameras to be worn on police officers. It will make them fully responsible for their actions. Want to make it easier to allow ex-convicts to vote after they’ve served their time in prison. Wants to begin investigations on local governments that have implemented quotas for stops and arrests.

Donald Trump Gun Control Believes that all should have the right to keep and bear arms. Having this right protects us and therefore should not violated. Trump felt that if everyone was allowed a gun, it would decrease crime rates and gun control would be stable. Basically saying” the more guns, the less crime happens.” Stronger background checks on people who want guns is violating their second amendment rights because its getting into their business. Criminal Justice law enforcement must be allowed to do their job, the way they know how to do it in order to stop the rise of crime. He acknowledges that some laws regarding non-violent crimes need to be considered (ex.. people shouldn’t be put in jail for possession of marijuana) We need to get serious on prosecuting criminals.

Marco Rubio Gun Control All Americans have a Second-Amendment right to buy a firearm, to possess one for both self-defense and for sport and believes criminals and dangerous people should not have access to guns That the laws are all word but no action because they limit the rights of those who abide the law and do nothing to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people. Gun laws are ineffective and shouldn’t be passed. Criminal Justice He believes that criminal laws need to be made public. Those that are not cruel, but fair. Criminal laws and regulations need to be easy to understand and not prone to abuse. Thinks that property should be seized from those suspected of crime.

Ted Cruz Gun Control- He opposes limits on gun ownership He supports the second amendment He believes that it's a constitutional right protect our families and our property such as our homes In order to address gun control issues, he holds campaign events, in which 24,000 people support. Criminal Justice- He supports the death penalty, he thinks offenders should be kept on close watch and bring them to justice He thinks congress should put more thoughts into laws concerning criminal Wants to put an end to harsh sentences for nonviolent drug offenders he wants to put an end to overcriminalization (for example: using criminal law only if the person intentionally goes against the law.
