1 The Imaginative and Creative World of Predictions Kristhine E. Bation Regene M. Carcasona

2 The varied activities in this unit enable you to hone your macro skills and metacognition. This unit let you experience collaborative learning by doing a series of exciting group activities and projects such as making diorama, poster, and multimedia presentation. As you work through with the different activities, you will enjoy making predictions and conclusions to certain situations given by the teacher and learn the adverbs of time and place and use them in sentences.

3 PUPILS PROJECTS CLAY MODELS You will create clay models which depict your possible activities and adventures this summer vacation. ESSAY You will write in a maximum of 100 words about yourselves; future predictions 10 years from now using the different adverbs of time and place. It may be narrative or descriptive. POSTER You will make a poster depicting your ideas of a certain story. SIMULATION (Video) You will create a simulation using your prediction about the outcome of a certain real-life situation and produce it through making a video.

5 Schedule DAY 1 Class oral recitation Assigning of groups Brainstorming of predictions regarding the possible adventures and activities this coming summer (ex. beach picnic, zoo tour, out-of- town trip, etc.) DAY 2 Presentation of the Rubrics and Guidelines for Clay Models by the teacher Clay Model making DAY 3 Half-baked (hanging) story telling by the teacher Brainstorming of predictions about the outcome of the certain half-baked story

6 DAY 4 Chosen story outcome prediction sharing by a group representative Presentation of the rubrics and guidelines for Poster Making by the teacher DAY 5 The entire session will be spent in making the Poster. DAY 6 Presentation of Posters and ranking of winners Discussion of the topic adverbs of time and place by the teacher Assignment on adverbs of time and place

7 DAY 7 Discussion of the difference between a narrative and descriptive essay by the teacher Presentation of the rubrics for Essay Writing Essay writing session (maximum of 100 words about one’s self; future predictions 10 years from now using the different adverbs of time and place) DAY 8 Sharing of individual essay to the class Activity reflection (certain questions will be raised by the teacher for pupils to reflect on) DAY 9 Different real-life situations will be given by the teacher and the group will brainstorm the possible outcomes of these situations. Discussion of the final project by the teacher which is simulation presented through a video production Presentation of the rubrics and guidelines for simulation and video production

8 DAY 10 Brainstorming and Designing of the video production. DAYS 11 and 12 Final shooting and editing of the scenes DAY 13 Video Presentation
