Presidents Video Turn to the Presidents section in your notebook to where we left off. Look for big events in Thomas Jefferson’s and James Madison’s presidencies! You should have at LEAST 4-5 crucial elements for each president.

Big Events: – Battle of Thames Tecumseh dies; Native Americans essentially out of war It took place near Ontario – Hartford Convention Meeting in Hartford, CT where Federalists considered the possibility of leaving the nation – Treaty of Ghent: Shared Oregon country for a good bit of time Neither side wanted to continue fighting – Battle of New Orleans: 2 weeks after the treaty of Ghent No one got the news the war was over…oops! Andrew Jackson wins a huge victory over British Boosts American morale and boost of nationalism
