Sentence Fragments Sentence fragments are “pieces” of sentences. A complete sentence has a subject and a predicate.

Complete Sentences Express complete thoughts Begin with capital letters End with correct punctuation

Paragraphs A good paragraph should have at least five complete sentences. You should always indent at the beginning of a paragraph. The first sentence of a paragraph should be the introduction. The last sentence of a paragraph should be the conclusion.

Verbal Communication Look at your audience. Speak loudly, but do not scream. Pronounce all words clearly. Try not to talk too fast. Try not to talk too slow. RELAX

Check Written Work Proofread all of your work (formal and informal). Follow the basic rules of grammar. Make necessary corrections. Allow someone else to check your work (when necessary).

Good Communication Write correct sentences. Write correct paragraphs. Use correct format when writing letters. Speak correctly.
