5
It will look this: Do these two things: Grab the white circles to stretch it out Rotate it using the green circle.

My Example
9
Realigning Text We will change how the text is aligned. Here are the different options: Adjust Left (like in a book) Center the text (like a title). Click on this one for this tutorial!!! Move it to the left Justify- this makes the spacing of the text look nicer
10
Modifying a Paragraph Let’s modify how far apart the lines are in a paragraph using the same example. To do this, highlight the text and right-click “Paragraph”
11
Next Change the size of the spacing to 1.5. This will make the lines be farther apart. You will probably have to stretch out your text box to see all the text.
12
Spellcheck Is your spelling all correct in the document? Go to the Review tab and click Spelling and Grammar. You’d be surprised how often this can help and how often people forget to do it! Good job! Would you like a cookie?
13
Adjusting Margins We will learn how to adjust the margins Margins are the white space at the sides of the page. You can control how much space there is. Go to the Page Layout tab and choose the Margins button
14
Margins Let’s change it to “moderate”
15
Other Page Layout Features (You don’t have to do these but feel free to try) Orientation changes the “paper” you work on and puts it on its “side” so it is longer “Size” Changes the size. “Columns” will make your text appear In columns like in a newspaper
16
Headers and Footers Headers and footers are special places at the top and bottom of a page when you can add things like extra text, page numbers, images and other stuff.
17
Go to the Insert tab and select Header Choose the one called “Annual”
18
Put the title as INF1030 and type in the year in the year section Now we will add a Footer. Choose the “alphabet” one.
19
We now have a Header and Footer The Footer has numbered our page and we can also add text at the bottom if we want to. To get out of editing the header and footer, click on the top right of Word. These headers and footers will appear on all the pages in the document. Individual ones can be edited.
20
Adding Pictures and Graphics This is very easy to do and most of you probably already know what to do! Go to the Insert tab. Insert a picture and insert a clipart picture.
21
Reduce the size of your pictures Because they probably take up way too much room. Do this one at a time To move the picture more easily, right click on it. Select “Wrap Text” and then chose “Square”. This is one of many options that allows the pictures to move and work with text better.
22
You should have something like this
23
Inserting a table and a new page We are out of room on our one page, so now we will create a new blank one. To do this, click on this -> Clicking on this one will put everything after where your cursor is on another page. This is called a page break.
24
Making a table To make a table go to the Insert Tab and go to Table If you click on it a grid appears. The grid represents the size of the table. Let’s make one that is 3 squares by 3 squares
25
