What do I need to bring to an audition? A Resume (Community Theatre – you can just write it down on the audition form) A Resume A Headshot (Community Theatre – they can take one for you) A Headshot

The Actual Audition Audition Scenario 1 They ask you to read a scene at the audition – this is called a COLD READING Tips: read with emotion, make character choices, and use gesture and movement when you can

The Actual Audition Audition Scenario 2 They ask you to bring your own monologue (usually 45 seconds to a minute long) --they might also have you do a cold reading, too Tips: Slate – your name and the play your piece comes from, Time your monologue and slate before you go

The Actual Audition Musical Theatre They will ask you to do a song (16-32 bars) in the style of the show. You might also be asked to do a 30-45 second monologue TIPS: Some require two selections (A Ballad and UpTemp0). Some require the total audition to be Ninety seconds.
