2 Communication The ongoing problem we will always need to solve… Striking a balance between over communication and under communication.

3 Coping in an Information World As recipients of numerous emails we know what it’s like to be inundated with information. We need to be able to digest an email quickly and decide if it’s relevant to our jobs. As senders we need to be sensible about what we send. Messages need to be targeted and succinct.

11 What is happening to ORSP-Announce and the other M-Community groups? We are carefully and slowly transitioning our old M-Community email lists (such as ORSP-Announce, NIH- Group, NSF-Net and others) to MailChimp. We are excited as this means we can better target communications to each group and not send unwanted information to audiences who don't need it. I want to sign up for ORSP-Announce Use our new MailChimp Form. It's easy to use, and allows you to choose what type of information we will send you. If you feel more comfortable you may still join ORSP-Announce (or the other lists) through a request on M- Community but you won't get the choices. I would like someone from ORSP to send a message to the ORSP-Announce group (or the NIH-group, or other). How can I do that? We can do that for you. We are just using a different tool to conduct the send and we ultimately have a broader audience to mail to and we can target the communications better too. Do I have to do anything different now? No. We'll ensure that your original M-Community email preferences are saved as needed. Eventually we will only manage the lists through MailChimp, but not without letting you know.
