Setting Clear Expectations Groups of 6-8 people Each group will complete a task. I need an assessor and observer from each group.  International Center for Leadership in Education

The TASK Blow up balloons one at a time. Tie the balloon. Cut a length of yarn and attach to the balloon. Hand the balloon to the assessor for evaluation. Any balloon not done correctly will rejected by the assessor by popping it with a push pin. Each group must try to figure out the evaluation criteria for “acceptable” work.  International Center for Leadership in Education

Assessment and RR Must be deliberate, set clear expectations from the beginning. H:\assess&RR.pdf www.rubistar.com  International Center for Leadership in Education

Take Away What can you “take away” from today’s training? Something you liked, will use in your classroom or just something you want to remember. Please take a few minutes to write it down on a piece of paper.  International Center for Leadership in Education

Goal Work in Quadrants B and D as much as possible to prepare students for the more demanding standards and assessments of CCSS. Use Authentic tasks…because they have value and meaning beyond the classroom. Students must put their knowledge and skills to work just as they might do naturally in or out of school.

Plan for PLC We would like you to meet in subject level PLC’s to choose a topic/standard from you curriculum and create an RR lesson this afternoon. If you teach more than one subject, just choose your favorite. I will be available for help if needed. You will be observed this year teaching an RR lesson. Implementation time line for RR lessons will be given by Mrs. Shaw
