2.  Internet is a network of connected computers  The purpose is to share information  The standard to transfer data/ documents/ informations over a network are known as protocols (HTTP, FTP, e-mail, etc.)  Web, short for “world wide web” (www) is one of the ways that the Internet lets people browse documents connected by hypertext links. It uses Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)

3.  The principle of the Web is based on using hyperlinks to navigate between documents (called "web pages") with a program called a browser.  A web page is a simple text file written in a markup language (called HTML) that encodes the layout of the document, graphical elements, and links to other documents, all with the help of tags.

5.  Every computer and device connected to Internet is assigned a unique numeric IP Address  Domain Name System (DNS) allows us to refer to the server by its domain name  DNS server matches domain names to their respective IP addresses  For example: the computer that hosts oreily.com has the IP address of 208.201.239.100

6.  Every resources on the Web has its own special address called a URL (Uniform Resource Locator)  A complete URL is generally made of three components: the protocol, the site name, and the absolute path to the document or resource:
