Circuits Day 4
2
Warm up 5 minutes How long does a copper wire (radius = 1 mm) need to be to have an internal resistance of 1.0 Ω?
3
Equivalent Resistance Find the equivalent resistance between points A and B in the drawing
4
Power 1.What is the resistance of the entire circuit? (R eq ) 2.From the arrangement, what is R? P = 100 W V = 80 V
5
Two batteries The circuit contains two batteries and two resistors. Determine the current in the circuit.
6
Two batteries – one flipped The circuit contains two batteries and two resistors. Determine the current in the circuit.
7
Complex circuit Example If 0.5 A of current is flowing through the 8- Ohm resistor, 1)How many Amps are going through the 20- Ohm resistor? 2)How many Amps are going through the 9- Ohm resistor?

Textbook Jigsaw 1.Form groups of 3. – Assign each group member a number, (66, 76 or 104) 3 minutes 2.All the 66 people form a new group to solve their problem in Chapter 20 in the textbook. (Same with 76 and 104) 12 minutes 3.Then the original groups meet back up and all teach each other how to solve their problems. (17 minutes)
