7  The State and/or District Curriculum  Select objectives What are the students going to learn?

8  Planning before the Lesson  80% of time dedicated to planning  Answer  WHY?—Plan student behaviors and outcomes  HOW?—Plan Teacher behavior and strategies  WHAT?—Skills and concepts, Vocabulary, Level of difficulty, and critical

9  Foundational skill —the skill student need to know in order to be success full with the new skill  Included as a bell ringer

10  Begins the instruction  What we do to generate student’s interest in the lesson

11  Instruction  When teaching and learning is happening  Teacher is:  Modeling  Giving Processes  Rules

12  Students see the entire process of the activity before the guided practice  Do not forget to explain the process while you are modeling.

13  Assess student’s understanding of learning Do this before you move on to the next step. Re-explain and model if necessary!!!
