CALENDAR These days are set! I will tell you if there are any changes that alter homework. You are responsible for your work and turning it in on time. If you are absent from class, then you still need to complete the required work on your own. This calendar (included in the packet) is posted online. Each assignment will be posted as well on a daily basis. If all else fails, ask a classmate. This is the final quarter of the year; I am the LAST resource you should be using when you need additional help. Do not rely on the teacher for basic questions.

ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY What is an annotated bibliography? It is a list of citations of resources (books, articles, and documents). Each citation is followed by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, credibility, and quality of the sources cited. What is the process? Writing an annotated bib calls for the application of a variety of intellectual skills: concise explanation, analysis, and informed research. First find and record citations to resources that may contain useful information. Cite the resource using the appropriate style (English = MLA) Write a brief annotation that summarizes the central theme and scope of the resource. Include: evaluation of the author’s Ethos, comment on the intended audience, compare/contrast this work with another, explain how this work supports your topic. Sophomore Year vs. Junior Year I will give you guided sheets to help you construct your thoughts. Next year you will be expected to remember and apply this skill. Learn this year and show off next year!
