Vladimir Russia Dear Pam, I was awfully glad to receive your letter. How are you? I hope everything is fine. In your last letter you asked me about healthy lifestyle. I think following a diet is necessary. And especially for women who must look wonderful everywhere. So it is very important to take care for our health, to have healthy eating habits and do exercises. So do I. As for me, I also prefer going to the gym and work hard there. As I were you I would explain my parents why I'm following my diet and doing exercises. I think they will understand you. By the way, I'd like to ask you about your favourite dishes. Do you like fried food? How often you eat sweets? Are you eating after 6 p.m.? Best regards to them! Wish you good luck! I am looking forward to your letter. Love, Lena.

Russia Tomsk 7 Ozernaya Street Dear Pam, Thanks for your letter, I was awfully glad to receive it. I must apologize for not writing you earlier. I was busy with my exams. It seems to me that getting on a diet is very harmful in our age. We should eat food rich in vitamins. Lack of this elements will influence bad on our health. But it’s very nice if you’re going to the gym. As for me, every morning I do exercises and when I have time I visit the gym too. I am glad for you if you have chosen a healthy life. If I were you, I would do the same thing because living a healthy way of life helps people to keep fit. What food you prefer? Do you cook yourself? Do you like meat or vegetables? Well, I have to go now to do shopping. Best wishes, Alex

13 Malkov Street Perm Russia 16 June 2012 Dear Pam, I would like to thank you for your letter. I am sorry. I haven’t written for so long. I really should have written sooner. But now I have time to answer your letter. Of course it is necessary to be in a good shape, especially before summer when you want to look slim and wonderful. Last year when I returned from a vacation to the Crimea I decided to go on a diet. I wanted to lose weight. I simply controlled what I ate and the results were amazing! I have lost 7 kilos. Isn't it nice? Right now I am trying to keep fit by going to the gym and doing exercises in the morning. I also go swimming sometimes when I have some spare time. Unfortunately I don't have much time for swimming. Luckily The swimming pool is situated not far from my house. I often meet friends in the pool. Anyway if I were you, to tell the truth, I would try to explain to your parents all good points of healthy life. And then by looking wonderful and healthy, show them the results of your lifestyle. By the way, I am interested to know about your favourite food. What dishes (salads, soups, deserts) would you prefer? Who cooks your favourite dish? How often do you eat this dish (weekly or on special days)? Anyway I’d better go now. I have got a lot of homework tonight. I’ll write again soon. Marina 258
