7 Set Theory What do you already know about Venn Diagrams?

8 Set Theory Graphic Organizer You will need: 1.Printer Paper 2.Colored pencils

9 Set Theory Graphic Organizer Directions: 1.Fold your paper so that you have four equal sections (one time hamburger style and one time hot dog style)

10 Set Theory Graphic Organizer In the top left corner (doesn’t matter which side) write the following vocabulary words & definitions: 1.Union- Joining 2 or more sets, contains everything in the sets (U) 2.Intersection- What 2 or more sets have in common/ where they overlap ( ) 3.Disjoint sets- Sets that have nothing in common 4.Empty set- Contains nothing, shown as: {} or ø 5.Complement of a set- Everything that’s not in a set (~A or A’) 6. Universal set- The largest set you’re using
