2 What is Alternative Spring Break? Community service-learning initiative that involves partnering with an organization for service work This program combines direct service, reflection, and education on a specific theme

3 What is Alternative Spring Break? In the months leading up to the experience, students:  fundraise to offset their trip costs  learn about a specific theme relevant to their trip location, such as poverty, human rights, or environmentalism  pre-departures for team building, travel logistics and student learning

6 Why should you participate? “We’d all come back more informed, grateful and inspired citizens—and with some much needed perspective. This is the way I’d describe ASB. You don’t come into the program to save anyone. You come to learn about yourself, a new community and culture, and how to be a good global citizen. Then you bring your newfound knowledge and inspiration back home, hopefully to make your local community a better place.” – Megan ASB Mexico/Guatemala
