11 Do not read your speech, you need to keep eye contact with the audience. You need to memorise it

12 Wait until you have their attention before you start to speak (ie: What Mr Flannery does)

13 Maintain a natural pace, avoid rushing through the speech

14 Pause when you make an important point

15 Make sure the listeners at the back can hear you

16 Speak clearly without mumbling

17 Keep a relaxed stance and use gestures where appropriate

18 Time your speech to ensure the length is right

19 Practise: watch and listen to yourself using a full length mirror

20 Remember to use visual clues

21 Practise: Read through the finished speech often to ensure a smooth delivery
