Solving Systems of Equations Chapter Seven

Definition Any pair of numbers that satisfies both equations is a solution to the system of equations.

Two Methods: Graphing and Substitution y = 2 x 3 x – y = 5

Two Methods: Graphing and Substitution 3 x + 5 y = 20 2 x + y = 4

Two Methods: Graphing and Substitution x + 3 y = 15 5 x - 6 y = 19

Nancy is training for her commercial pilot’s license. She can afford to spend only $3500 on the required 50 hours of instruction. Nancy would like to spend as much time as possible training in an airplane, but airplane instruction costs $98 per hour. Training in the simulator costs only $46 per hour.
