Importance of Plan n Required for future DHS grants, particularly PSIC funds n Aid in steering of GEMA funding n GEMA funding will focus on initiatives established in plan n Your input is essential in establishing these initiatives n Identifies goals to increase communications interoperability n Serves as roadmap for future initiatives

Major Tenets of Plan n Georgia Interoperability Network n Gateway system to create an interoperable foundation statewide n Regional Radio Systems n e.g. Atlanta UASI, Chatham/Effingham, Northwest GA, etc. n All Hazards Councils n Key forum for regional and statewide interoperability efforts

CASM n Communication Asset Survey and Mapping (CASM) Tool n Provided by DHS n Inventory of communications equipment across the state n GTRI will be gathering information through 2008 n Allows multiple views of available interoperability

Schedule and Deadlines n August 13-16 n Conducted focus group sessions n December 3 n Final “plan for plan” due to DHS n 2008 n Continue development of the plan
