People are not going out of the comfort of their own home, socialising or staying active, but would rather stay home & order the desired product/s from online. Local businesses are also losing customers, as they would rather find cheaper deals online, many of these local business do not have an online website Social networks are also stopping people from meeting in real life, face to face. Developments in I.T have also been a benefit, as people with families abroad can keep in touch via Skype, Facebook and other social network sites.

As the I.T industry has developed, many people have also lost their jobs, as many roles and positions are computerised now e.g. Production of cars. But on the other hand, people have also gained jobs, such as the manufacturing of robots and programming of computers.

Most urban areas in most countries have access to a broadband connection, but many within the rural areas, do not as many companies do not provide a connection within that specific area. Areas without an internet connection miss out on a lot things such as, e-mail. Email is used to contact one or more recipients with important information. They also miss out on social network websites, meaning they cannot contact family that live abroad.
