1 Printables, Projects and Poems
Poetry Center Once Upon A Time Printables, Projects and Poems Edition Two

2 Once Upon a Time is an early primary unit that uses fairy tales to help teach the difference between fiction and non-fiction, rhyme, sight words, first sound fluency, and sentence structure. The fairy tales used are based on traditional tales and presented in a poem format. The poems are written for early readers using many first learned sight words. Rhyme is a powerful vehicle to help teach comprehension and vocabulary. There are six fairy tales presented in this unit: A Mermaid Wish, A Wolf's Tale (Little Red Riding Hood), The Three Little Pig Blues, The Gruff Family (Three Billy Goats Gruff), My Gingerbread Family, and Goldilocks, Goldilocks. Your students will enjoy the new twist on these old favorites. The children will enjoy coloring, cutting and pasting the beautiful illustrations that accompany each fairy tale.
