5. The Health Roundtable KEY CHANGES IMPLEMENTED The OR centric view on theatre throughput and utilisation needed to change. We identified 3 key focus areas for the duration of the 6 month project.  Scheduling  Patient flow in the Operating Suite  Patient flow in the Recovery room We looked at these three areas in depth and worked to maximise throughput in all focus areas 5

6. The Health Roundtable OUTCOMES OF PROJECT AND... WHERE ARE WE NOW??  Long waiters targets continue to be met 2 years on  Gynae throughput sustained at over 220+ cases pcm 2 years on from project 6

The Health Roundtable LESSONS LEARNT  Early identification and recognition of key stakeholders input is paramount to change management in the Operating room environment  Key stakeholder buy in and continuous engagement  Cannot undertake any redesign or change half heartedly  Staff can be influenced by strong leadership and governance to effect change 7
