Graphic Standards are guidelines followed when making: Flyers, newsletters, and training material (like this slideshow) They give a sense of unity and professionalism to our work. And allow work to be easily identified as part of Key Club. Examples of Key Club Graphic Standards are:

Don't complain.” -Maya Angelou Logos Graphic Standards Rules for use: Must be placed on a neutral background color. Should never be distorted. 0.5 inch isolation all around. On anything smaller than a banner, do not exceed 1.5in and 5in respectively. Max size: 1.5” Max size: 5.0”

Don't complain.” -Maya Angelou CNH and The Pencil Graphic Standards Other items to add to publications: The pencil should be used on the front of all Key Club publications and on a regular 8.5”x11” paper should be no larger than 0.5” in height. The CNH logo follows the same rules as the Key Club Logo with a maximum of 1.5” size and 0.5” isolation.

Graphic Standards Use Arial Font for Websites There are two main fonts Century Gothic : Headings – 44pt, and subheadings 14pt Goudy Old Style: Main Text – 9.5pt, with 13pt leading Accent Fonts Personalize your publication Ex. Goudy Stout, Juice, Tempus Sans, & Viner Hand Feel free to download fonts for accents!

Don't complain.” -Maya Angelou What are Newsletters? Newsletters There are three types of Newsletters: Divisional, Regional, and District. They are used to promote upcoming events, service projects, and other useful information. As the name implies, they are letters that deliver news! Each type should cover only the news regarding the that level of Key Club in order to avoid unnecessary repetition.

Don't complain.” -Maya Angelou What do they look like? Newsletters Newsletters are official Key Club documents and should be made following the Graphic Standards mentioned earlier. Sometimes you can personalize and stray from the standards, but you should try to keep it simple. They can be made in Microsoft Word or Publisher, but should always be saved as a PDF file. Feel free to include pictures and make it interesting instead of blocks of text.

Newsletters The newsletter should be long enough to cover the important information, but short enough to keep the reader’s attention. Divisional Newsletters are usually a page or two. Regional Newsletters vary based on how many divisions are in your region. Avoid putting unnecessary information.

Don't complain.” -Maya Angelou Newsletters What pictures can I add? Pictures in the newsletters should be of Key Clubbers in action at a Key Club event. (The exception being self-portraits.) They should be of energetic, happy, and diverse Key Clubbers. If possible, they should exemplify Key Club’s four core values (leadership, character building, caring, and inclusiveness). And Clip Art is useful!
