Protein Main component of muscles and tissues Made out of amino acids Used continuously Major sources include soybeans, peanuts, cottonseed, and linseed Oil meal

Carbohydrates Sugars and starches Provide energy and heat Energy obtained is used for growth, maintenance, work, reproduction, and lactation Sugars (simple and compound) Found in plant materials Corn, wheat, barley, oats, and rye
