If you are NOT absolutely positive that you have the very latest info: Indicate that you will find out and return to post the answer as soon as you can Contact appropriate people and request that they answer the questions Provide contact info (staff E-mail or Forum name) for departments or team members If you MUST answer right away, add a “previous year proviso”

Common Moderator Tasks Answer questions in your Forum area Support your area: Make important threads “Sticky”, split/join threads, clarify thread subjects Lock threads that are dead or no longer applicable (but NEVER delete them) Move incorrectly located threads to the appropriate area Help other moderators by alerting them of issues in their areas

Moderator “Damage Control” Move Spambot posts/threads to “Spambot Purgatory” Provide “friendly guidance”, and log incidents to the “Rogues Gallery” Make minor edits to posts if necessary In a crisis, move hypercritical threads to “Threads Gone Wild” and contact the Admin (NEVER delete any thread)
