1. Fine Arts and Literature in Hódmezővásárhely

2. Our town is a significant cultural and art centre of the South-Plain Region. The calm and the beauty of the countryside attracts the artists, so important and colorful art-life has realized here.

3. The Tornyai János Museum – which is in the city center – is named after by János Tornyai. He was born and died in Hódmezővásárhely. His paintings still impress the inhabitants of our town.

4. Mártély is a little village near Hódmezővásárhely, which is situated on the bank of the River Tisza.The beauty of this region inspired famous painters at the beginning of the 20 th century. Béla Endre painted there in humanist style every summer till his death.

5. The traditional Autumn Exhibition opens every October. This is a well-known cultural event, whose aim is to introduce well-known and less known, beginner and professional artists.

6. The Exhibition is the opening accord of the Autumn Week Series, which is a colorful series in every October and November.

7. László Németh was a Hungarian playwright and novelist. Between 1945 and 1948 he taught Hungarian literature in our school.

8. Today the library of the town is named after him.
