PIONEER OF POINTILLISM GEORGE SEURAT
2
A SHORT LIFE Dec. 2, 1859 – March 29, 1891, Died of a disease when he was only 31 years old. He received his first art lessons from an uncle. His family was wealthy, and he was able to devote his life to painting He went to art school. He wanted to paint differently than other painters. Instead of mixing his paints to get the colours he wanted, he put dots of different colours very close to each other and let people’s eyes do the blending. It was an optical illusion… yellow and red very close together might look ________________ from a distance!
