5 1.2 Statement of Problem Malaysia has experienced a dramatic growth of obesity among its citizens. A recent study conducted by The Ministry of Health showed that 7 out of 10 Malaysians are considered obese with the starting age of 9 years old…. Given the situation, it is time that particular groups start looking into the causes of why this is happening so rapidly and try to come up with a solution to minimize this problem.

In addition, this study also wants to determine what are the causes and effects of obesity. The findings will help individuals from all level to help curve this problem in order to have a healthier future.

14 1.7 SCOPE OF STUDY This study will investigate the cases of obesity among Malaysians. The respondents are Malaysian citizens from different races between the age of 12-70 years old, randomly selected by the research team themselves. The data will be collected via questionnaire from January 12 to August 1 this year.
