Rule 1 Use in a list. I enjoy camping, fishing, and hiking.

Rule 2 Use to separate independent clauses when joined with and, but, or, nor, so, & yet. Today is going to be warm, so I am going outside to enjoy it.

Rule 3 Use a comma to separate dependent clauses from independent clauses. When you get home, we need to go to the store.
