What we offer at Thayer Central Currently we offer a one-year course of Computer Coding. Next year we plan to offer a Beginning Computer Programming for the first semester and an Advanced Computer Programming for the second semester.

#NETA15 How the course is currently organized We start with writing programs for their TI-84 calculators ● Quadratic Formula ● Distance Formula ● Midpoint Formula ● Slope ● Binomial Probability

#NETA15 Some Additional Activities ● Peanut Butter and Jelly Activity ● We also do some Base 2 and Base 16 math ● Hour of Code and Code.org Activites ● Khan Academy

#NETA15 What Language to Use? We use Visual Basic from Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional We did a few activities using Python this semester as well

#NETA15 What other schools do Lincoln Southwest - Intro to Programming (1 term - block schedule) and Adv Programming (1 term - block schedule) - Python for both Lincoln Southeast - Intro to Programming (1 semester) and Adv Programming (1 semester) - Java for both, but explore others in Adv Lincoln Pius X - AP Computer Science with Java Lincoln Lutheran - Programming 1 (1 semester) - Python and Programming 2 (1 semester) - Python and explore other languages
