You are prepared each class You are ready to learn You know your current grade When the bell rings- you are in your assigned seat ready to work If you can handle this- find somewhere else to be EXPECTATIONS

Binder 4 Tabs (Notes, Journal, Non-Journal & Portfolio) Or Laptop/Chromebook Textbook Paper- for Notes Pen/Pencil All work is available on my website: Mr. Talbott Master Student SUPPLIES NEEDED

We will generally go in 3 class cycles Class #1: Take next set of notes Start Discussion Activities Class #2: Finish Discussion Activities Go Over previous Journal Start Next Journal Class #3: Take Quiz over that section of notes Finish/Submit Journal Read Next Section from Text STRUCTURE OF COURSE (CALENDAR)

Ten One Page Journal Articles 10 points each Three Non-Journal Assignments 50 points each Attendance & Participation (Verbal & Non- Verbal) worth 100 points Weekly five point quizzes Portfolio for 30 points Final Exam of 50 points 500 points total HOW COURSE WILL BE GRADED (GRADE SHEET)

Journals will generally be assigned on Day #2 & our due by end of Day #3 MUST BE TYPED One Inch Margins, 12 Point Font, Double Spaced, One Whole Page, Follow standard grammar rules Plagiarism- First time 0 on assignment, second time is 0 in course & referral to Stark State & GlenOak Administration If late- ½ credit for one day late, 0 after that- but needs to be completed for portfolio They are 10 points Each- 100 total points (10% of total grade) We will have two practice ones beforehand GRADING JOURNALS

There will be Three Major Projects for the Class: Each Project is 50 points (10% of Total Grade, All Project 30% of Total Grade) Due on Due Date- even if you are absent 1.A Time Management Project 2.Career/College Search 3. Visual Representation of Notes PROJECTS

Participation is worth 100 points (20% of Overall Grade) You will be graded on Participation & Behavior for each chapter: Your behavior- stay in seats doing work On-Task Not being a disruption Participation in activities 10 points a chapter Also have 30 participation points in some other assignments (Practice Journals…) PARTICIPATION GRADES

There will be 14 quizzes this semester Each quiz will be over the notes we had for that unit The quizzes are worth 5 points each (70 Points Total) Each Quiz has 3 multiple choice responses & one 2 point short answer QUIZZES

Final Portfolio Keep all Journals & Portfolio If Using Eagleapps create a folder for Journals Journals - corrected copy in Portfolio Will be collected and graded. Comprehensive Exam END OF YEAR GRADES

We will generally be covering half of a chapter at a time The Slides are available on my (Mr. Talbott) Website We recommend you download the slides You will also need to take additionally notes while I am lecturing- not all of the material is on the slides Part of your participation grade is earned here- pay attention/ask questions/ don’t be a distraction NOTES
