Welding technology Instructor: Mr. Swoyer Rules & Guidelines

-Everyone must adhere to posted classroom and shop rules. ( safety, safety, safety ). 1.You will receive a verbal warning for a violation (unless infraction is severe). 2. You will be asked not to participate in the day’s activity, and receive a grade reduction. (Possible call home) 3. You will be asked to leave, and dealt with as per school discipline code.

Notebook All students are required to keep a notebook (three inch) Training modules, handouts, tests, worksheets and all other work shall be included. Notebooks shall be checked each semester for accuracy.

-Everyone must have all paperwork turned in & proper attire before beginning shop work.

-One person is to leave the shop/classroom at one time (Emergency). -All students are required to bring a pen or pencil everyday. (Grade reduction) -If you show up late to class (after the bell rings) you will be required to show a pass to enter.

-Changing times will generally be as follows for each session AM arrival10:30am-10:40am PM arrival1:55pm-2:05pm 10 minutes is the maximum changing time.

-Clean up times are as follows AM10:15am-10:30am PM1:40pm-1:55pm

-Students are responsible for bringing and maintaining proper work attire. Mandated: Change of cloths (dark colors) Leather boots Safety glasses (one pair provided) Welding helmet/ sleeves or coat Suggested: Steel toe leather work boots. Work uniform (Dickes brand)

-All students will be provided with a shop locker for work clothes storage. -All students will need a three inch three ring binder. -All students are required to fill out a Work log. (No Work log no grade).

Grading policy -You will be assessed according to three main areas. Attitude Skills Knowledge

A= 90-100 B= 80-89 C= 70-79 D=60-69 F= 0-60

-If you are scheduled for ISS or OSS your daily Work ethic grade will be a percent of written work completed. -You are responsible for making up any missed work!

-Daily attendance is very important and is integrated into your grade. If you miss more than 10 days in a semester you will not pass that semester! You are responsible for making up any missed work! -Perfect attendance will earn you special privileges.
