Why Movie Maker? It’s FREE!!! It’s FLEXIBLE!!

What can I do with it in the classroom? Create videos Picture slideshows Narrate United Streaming video clips Use as language lab Publish completed projects Just to name a few!!

Do I need any special equipment? You WILL NOT need any special equipment for most projects beyond a video camera or digital camera. EXCEPTION— ** Depending on the equipment at your school you may need a firewire cable and adaptor. *See your ITRT for specifics. firewire cable adaptor Maybe—Maybe not

Is it hard to use? Online Tutorials a. Atomic Learning- Great tutorial broken into small audio/video segments Atomic Learning a. Window XP tutorial- Basic how to site Window XP tutorial- NO!!

The Dreaded RED X All files used in MovieMaker project must be saved in the same folder. (for example, video/music clips and pictures) MovieMaker does not import files, it creates a reference to the location of the file. www.winsupersite.com

What type of projects can I produce? Save to the computer Post projects to web Create a CD Send as an e-mail attachment Create a DVD (This requires manually saving file as a dv-avi file and might require additional software, such as Roxio DVD maker.) **The computer default settings will automatically save projects according to file size needed. You may also change file size to manually for specific needs.

Brainstorming……. Stop motion animation—Google It!! VGLA—Tape students responding verbally to questions. Family Tree—Narrate family tree using family photos Narrate a timeline of major invents in history Oral Quiz Exit Polls—Students ask questions to voters leaving polling places (with permission from administration, of course) (Share Fair Back Up Plan /Final Thoughts)
